Eric Ray

As an endurance athlete for most of my life, I’ve always tried to balance my athletic performances with both my home and work life. Researching and implementing new training strategies, diets and performance devices into my training plans has been a passion, as well as playing a significant role enhancing my performance and ability.

With over 20 years of training and racing experience I have learned what works for me and what does not. My experiences, and those of other athletes I’ve known, have taught me primarily that each individual is different in their training and diet needs. My goal as a coach is to individualize training plans to get the best possible performance from my clients using not only use my own experience and knowledge, but keeping up to date with the most recent training techniques and research as well.

My primary racing experience has been as a cyclist, both road and mountain bike. I started as a collegiate racer at UC Berkeley and the University of Washington where I took part in several collegiate national championships. I’ve competed in hundreds of races, including criteriums, road races, stage races, time trials, track, and cross country mountain bike races. I’m an active category 2 road racer, as well as an expert mountain biker and a USA cycling level 3 coach.

  • Ongoing and unlimited coach - athlete communication.
  • Field testing to set Heart Rate, Pace and Power Training zones.
  • Power meter training guidance and file analyses.
  • Daily workouts, weekly goals and annual training plan.
  • Recovery Training - rest and recovery focus to enhance performance.
  • Race execution plans.
  • Continued analyses of training and results.
  • $250/month.

 

Personalized Training Plans

  • Analysis of Athlete Profile including training history, performance and race goals.
  • Daily workouts and weekly goals optimized for each individual.
  • Use of TrainingPeaks training plan software (http://www.trainingpeaks.com/trainingplans/tplanfeatures.asp)
  • $125/month with 3 month commitment.
